Shimon Okshteyn was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, and lived and worked in the United States from 1980. Over four decades, he developed a multidisciplinary practice distinguished by technical virtuosity and an ongoing investigation of objects, memory, popular culture, mortality, and the shifting boundaries between representation and reality.
